 Northeast Black Forest The northeastern Black Forest region is located in El Paso County. Situated to the north of the City of Colorado Springs real estate area, this tranquil area is a combination of the well-established ranch style homes and striking new homes. It is an approximate 30 minute commute from this part of the Air Force Academy real estate area or 17 miles. A possible choice for your Colorado Springs military relocation if you are looking to combine country living and acreage, with city living amenities such as shopping, restaurants, and entertainment available in the Monument and Colorado Springs real estate areas. Recreation The Black Forest is an equestrian neighborhood nestled in the pines. Most of the homes are zoned for horses. There are other outdoor recreational activities in some of the communities and surrounding areas such as fishing, hiking, and biking. Shopping is 20 minutes away in the town of Monument. The Factory Outlet Mall in Castle Rock is a favorite shopping center for residents in the El Paso County area and is an approximate 30 minute drive.
