 Fairfax The Fairfax neighborhood is a more established, landscaped neighborhood located on a hill in the Northeastern Colorado Springs real estate area. The homes in this Briargate real estate area were built from 1985-1993. With a wide variety of homes and architecture in the Fairfax subdivision, it's hard not to find something suited to your tastes and within your price range. The homes range from ranchers to 1.5, 2, 3 and 4 story homes. There are over 16 neighborhoods in the Fairfax subdivision. Bordering two main thoroughfares of Colorado Springs; Powers Boulevard and Woodmen Road, there is easy access to shopping and restaurants within a short driving distance. Schools in the area are within walking distance. Prairie Hills Elementary School is located in the subdivision. There are three parks within the subdivision: Castello Park, Buckskin Charlie Park, and the Fairfax Park. The proposed Powers Trail will run on the south and east side of the subdivision.

The average sales price in 2008 is $233,236 and is 2,148 finished square feet. The average size home for sale is 3 bedrooms, 3 baths, and a 2 car garage. Schools The schools of attendance in the Fairfax subdivision are: Prairie Hills Elementary School, Timberview Middle School, and Liberty High School. These schools are Academy School District No. 20 schools. Neighboring Communities The neighboring communities in the Fairfax real estate area are the Sagewood, Briargate, Wagon Trails, Wolf Ranch and Cumbre Vista, subdivisions. The Sagewood real estate area is located north of the Fairfax community. Timberview Middle School and Liberty High School are located in this subdivision. Situated to the west is the Briargate real estate area and the Briargate neighborhood. The Chapel Hills Mall is located in this area. The Wagon Trails real estate subdivision is located to the south of the Fairfax Community. VillaSports, an athletic club and spa open to the public can be found in this subdivision. Located to the east, across Powers Boulevard are the Wolf Ranch real estate and Cumbre Vista real estate communities. Both of these communities are newer developments. Homes for sale in these areas run from $285,000-$549,213 in Wolf Ranch, and from $306,361-$425,000 in Cumbre Vista. These areas are still growing real estate areas with new homes for sale. Commuting Accessing Powers Boulevard will take you to Peterson Air Force Base in approximately 20 minutes, making it a candidate for a Colorado Springs military relocation when shopping for homes near Peterson AFB. It is an approximate 11 mile commute. Schriever Air Force Base is an approximate 11.85 mile commute or a 20 minute drive from the Fairfax subdivision and these Schriever AFB homes for sale. The United States Air Force Academy is approximately 9 miles or a 15 minute drive, making it a nice consideration for Air Force Academy real estate. Recreation There are three parks in the Fairfax neighborhood real estate area. Castello Park is located on Potomac Drive. Buckskin Charlie part is located on Scarborough Drive in the Fairfax subdivision. The park offers a baseball/softball field, basketball court, in-line hockey court, picnic tables, playground, soccer field, trail/sidewalk path, portable restrooms, and is handicapped accessible. The third park is the Fairfax Park in the Fairfax subdivision is located on Chancellor Drive. The park has a basketball court, picnic shelter, picnic tables, playground, soccer field, and trail/sidewalk path. It is also handicapped accessible. Access to the Powers Corridor provides shopping, entertainment, and restaurant options. The Sky Sox stadium is located on the Powers Corridor. It is an approximate 15 minute drive to access these amenities. To the west, approximately 15 minutes, is the Chapel Hills Mall. The Briargate YMCA is located northwest of the Fairfax subdivision. |
