Neighboring Communities Bordering the Broadmoor Hills real estate area to the west is the spectacular original Broadmoor area. The Broadmoor has a historical hotel and resort and has three golf courses. To the south, north, and east are residential housing developments, including the Broadmoor Bluffs real estate area. Commuting Bordering Highway 115, the Broadmoor Hills Subdivision is a solid Colorado Springs military relocation choice. This Fort Carson real estate area is an approximate 9 minute drive, or 4.34 miles to the main gate. The Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Base is also in close proximity to Broadmoor Hills. It is an approximate 20 minute commute, or 13.5 miles to the West Gate from this part of the Peterson AFB real estate area. The Pineview Restaurant is located in the Clubhouse. A member's lounge is located in the Clubhouse as well as a golf shop, and men's and women's locker rooms. Fine dining opportunities are close by. The Broadmoor Hotel and Resort offers exquisite dining opportunities as well as three golf courses. The Resort has the first-rate, world-class Charles Court and the Penrose Room restaurants. Located to the northwest of the Broadmoor Hills real estate area is Cheyenne Mountain Canyon. The Canyon is the site of nearly 60 trails, and several water fall locations. Seven Falls is located in South Cheyenne Canyon. Many trails and the Helen Hunt Falls and the Silver Cascade Falls are located in North Cheyenne Canyon. The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is located to the west of the original Broadmoor area, and northwest of Broadmoor Hills. The zoo is built on a hillside and has a tram to take you up to the top. Also in the Broadmoor Heights area is the historic Will Rogers Shrine. The Shrine was built in 1937 by Spencer Penrose who also gave the Broadmoor Hotel and Cheyenne Mountain Zoo landmarks to Colorado Springs. The Shrine is an 80-foot tower that looks over the City of Colorado Springs, Garden of the Gods, and Broadmoor Hotel. The structure was named after Penrose's friend Will Rogers who died in an airplane crash in 1935. Additional Restaurants are located five minutes to the southeast. Some of the restaurants are Red Robin, Kroger, On the Border, Panera Bread, and Noodles & Company. In a shopping center close by there is a PetSmart, Sears, Home Depot, Michaels, and a 24 Hour Fitness Center. Grocery shopping is a five minute drive. |
