 Broadmoor Located off of Highway 115 in the southwest region of the Colorado Springs real estate area is the original Broadmoor Subdivision. This southwest real estate area is located in El Paso County, Colorado. The Broadmoor is a prominent golfing and resort community that was established in 1890 and is the site of the Broadmoor Hotel, a luxury hotel and resort. The Broadmoor Hotel is the center of the Broadmoor real estate area and has over 700 rooms, 18 restaurants and cafes, three golf courses, and a world class spa. The five star Broadmoor Hotel wraps around a lake, and has a walking path that circles the lake. The El Pomar Carriage House Museum is located at the Broadmoor Hotel. The museum houses a collection of vintage carriages and automobiles. The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo and Will Rogers Shrine are situated in the foothills behind the Broadmoor Hotel. The Penrose Room, a five diamond restaurant, is located in the Broadmoor Hotel.
Homes Prices & Descriptions Although the Broadmoor real estate area was established in the late 1800s, the houses in the area have a timeless design and superb craftsmanship. Schools The school district for the original Broadmoor real estate area is Cheyenne Mountain School District No. 12. The schools of attendance are: Cantilde;on Elementary School, Broadmoor Elementary School, Cheyenne Mountain Middle School, and Cheyenne Mountain High School. Neighboring Communities Located to the west of the original Broadmoor Subdivision is the Broadmoor Heights real estate area. The Broadmoor Hills real estate area is situated to the east of the Broadmoor Subdivision. South of the Broadmoor is the Broadmoor Mountain Course and Mountain Course pond. Commuting The original Broadmoor Subdivision is located off of Highway 115. This quick access makes it a Colorado Springs military relocation choice. There are several homes near Fort Carson and it is an approximate 10 minutes drive to the Main Gate, or 5.5 miles. It's also a close commute to the Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Base. The Peterson West Gate is an approximate 20 minutes drive, or 13.5 miles from this part of the Peterson AFB real estate area. Interstate 25 is an approximate 10 minute drive from the Broadmoor Subdivision. Lake Avenue turns into Circle Drive, a main Colorado Springs thoroughfare, and runs a north/south course through the Colorado Springs real estate area. Recreation The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is situated on the west border of the original Broadmoor Subdivision. The zoo is situated on 146 acres of land and has approximately 550 animals in the zoo. The zoo has a tram, carousel, and a miniature train. The Broadmoor Golf Club is a premiere golf course established in 1918 with the new Broadmoor Hotel. The club has three 18-hole courses: The East Course, West Course, and the Mountain Course. The Mountain Golf Course was the third course that was added in 2006. The original clubhouse was replaced in 1994 with a new 90,000 square foot clubhouse. The club house has a spa, fitness center, and indoor pool. The Broadmoor Golf Club hosts important tournaments such as the U.S. Senior Open Championship in 2008, and it will host the U.S. Women's Open Championship in 2011. Located close to the Southgate Shopping Center, the Broadmoor Subdivision has easy and quick access to shopping and restaurants. Stores such as the Home Depot, Ross Dress for Less, PetSmart, Michaels, Red Robin, On the Border, Noodles & Company, 24 Hour Fitness, and Sears are located in the Southgate Shopping Center. |
