 Woodmen Hills Woodmen Hills is a neighborhood located in Peyton, Colorado that offers affordable homes. It is east of the Colorado Springs real estate area. The region offers a wide variety of homes that were built in the 2000s. The lots vary in size as much as the size of the houses. The Woodmen Hills subdivision is located in the Falcon real estate area. Some of the homes are within walking distance to a shopping center that has a huge grocery store and several other shops. Woodmen Hills has some conveniences of a city, but is in a rural, but growing, part of El Paso County. Situated off Woodmen Road, Woodmen Hills is close to two main thoroughfares that run north and south. On the south side it is close to Highway 24 which takes you east and west. The location is very convenient for travel to Colorado Springs to the west or the town of Calhan to the east. It is also well-situated for travel to Peterson Air Force Base and Schriever Air Force Base.

Schools The schools of attendance are Meridian Ranch Elementary School and Woodmen Hills Elementary School, Falcon Middle School, and Falcon High School. Woodmen Hills Elementary School is located in the subdivision and Meridian Ranch Elementary School is located to the east of Woodmen Hills. Neighboring Communities The real estate communities bordering Woodmen Hills are Meridian Ranch to the east, The Gables west, and Falcon Hills to the north. Meridian Ranch has a beautiful golf course that runs throughout the neighborhood. It also has a community center that is run by the YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region. The real estate in this area represents homes with significant square footage and golf course real estate views. The Gables also offers close access to Peterson Air Force Base and Schriever Air Force Base. It is located to the west of Woodmen Road and to the north of Highway 24. It is close to restaurants and shopping. The real estate in The Gables represents larger homes and lots than some of the other Falcon real estate areas. Falcon Hills is a ranch-style community located to the north of Woodmen Hills. The appearance of the homes for sale in this real estate area maintains the ranching spirit the falcon community was built upon. Some of the lots are 5 acres in size. Commuting There are several homes for sale near Peterson AFB. By accessing Highway 24, Peterson Air Force Base is approximately 17 minutes from Woodmen Hills, or an 11 mile commute. This part of Schriever AFB real estate is the same amount of time and distance to commute, as there is easy access to Highway 94 from the Woodmen Hills area, making it a popular choice for a Colorado Springs military relocation. Recreation There are two recreation centers in the Woodmen Hills subdivision: The Woodmen Hills Recreation Center West and the Recreation Center East. They are open to the public to take classes. All other amenities at the facilities are open to residents only on a daily basis. However, non-residents can come in and take classes such as swim classes, water aerobics, kick boxing, soccer, T-ball, step aerobics, and yoga. Some of the classes are dependent upon season. Located to the east of the Woodmen Hills Recreation Centers is the Meridian Ranch Recreation Center. This Center is operated by the Pikes Peak YMCA. It offers fitness classes as well. To the east on Highway 24 there are a lot of adventures: Fishing or hunting at Ramah Reservoir, hiking at the Homestead Ranch Regional Park, visiting a the Paint Mines Regional Park to investigate geological formations and history, or playing golf at the Antler Creek Golf Course in Meridian Ranch. All of these adventures take place to the east of Woodmen Hills. Some are in close proximity and some are a short drive down Highway 24. |
