 Ridgeview Ridgeview is a quaint neighborhood on the east side of Colorado Springs. This is a close-knit community with an elementary school and middle school within walking distance from some of the homes. Also available is a wide variety of townhomes. The townhomes are close to the Powers Corridor and grocery store. Home building in Ridgeview began around 1999 and new homes are continuing to rise. There are parks scattered throughout the subdivision. Skyview Middle School and Ridgeview Elementary School are located in the subdivision.

The high school's focus is on science, technology, engineering, and math but offers a comprehensive curriculum for all students. Their colors are Columbia blue and black and they are known as the "Wolves". The school of attendance for middle school is Skyview Middle School. The elementary school for this area is Ridgeview Elementary School. Neighboring Communities The neighborhood to the south is the Stetson Hills real estate area. Stetson Hills contains many parks and open spaces. To the north of Ridgeview is the Greenhaven real estate subdivision. Vista Ridge High School is located in Greenhaven. To the west are 5 acre county lots with homes and the Sundown neighborhood. Going east is Sand Creek and the Indigo Ranch real estate subdivision. Commuting Ridgeview is located on the Powers Corridor and has quick access to Marksheffel Road which goes directly to Highway 24. Ridgeview is close enough to be considered part of Peterson AFB real estate and Schriever AFB real estate. The commute to Peterson AFB is approximately 10 minutes or 6 miles and is a good option for Colorado Springs military relocation. It is approximately 25 minutes to Schriever Air Force Base or 16 miles. This area has easy access to the town of Falcon, since it is located close to Marksheffel Road to the east. The Colorado Springs Airport is approximately 11 miles or a 16 minute commute. Recreation The Ridgeview area has parks and open spaces. To the east is Sand Creek and there are walking trails along the creek. You can take your dog for a walk or just hike along the Creek. There are future plans by the city to make the trails concrete. The Powers Corridor borders Ridgeview to the west. There is endless shopping, restaurants, and entertainment along the Corridor. Cherokee Ridge Golf Course and World Golf are 9-hole golf courses within 10 minutes from Ridgeview. The Springs Ranch golf course is approximately 8-10 minutes from Ridgeview and is an 18-hole golf course. Approximately 2 miles or 5 minutes from Ridgeview, along the Powers Corridor, is the Sky Sox Stadium. The Stadium produces a large fireworks display on the 4th of July as well as professional baseball games. VillaSport, an athletic club and spa is located 10 minutes to the west. The Club is a large public club which offers swimming, exercise classes, and massage to name a few amenities. There is an indoor and outdoor swimming pool. The outdoor swimming pool has a water slide and lazy river. Their exercise program has everything from pilates to personal training. They also offer massage and body treatments. It is a family club and is open to the public. The club is approximately 3 miles from Ridgeview. Three city parks are currently in Ridgeview: The Jared Jensen park, The Horace Shelby Park, and the Snowy River park. The Jared Jensen Park has a skateboard area, inline skate court, basketball picnic pavilion, and a playground. It has a 3 mile sidewalk loop. It is 3.5 acres in area. The Horace Shelby Park has in-line skating/multi-play court, picnic tables, a playground and a picnic shelter. It is 4.7 acres in area. The Snowy River Park has in-line hockey/basketball court, a playground, picnic tables and an open play field. |
