Both parks are handicapped accessible. The Garden of the Gods is close to the Oak Valley Ranch subdivision. The Garden of the Gods has walking/biking trails, horseback riding, and rock climbing. It is open daily throughout the entire year. To the southwest of the Oak Valley Ranch Subdivision is the historical Old Colorado City. Old Colorado City was a major mining supply location for South Park from 1859-1860. Further west is the historical Manitou Springs real estate area. Manitou Springs is a Victorian/Bohemian mix of styles and is a very artistic and nontraditional community. There are historical hotels and Western style hotels. These two areas provide a unique blend of shopping and restaurants experiences. Shopping is not far away whether you head south or east. |
