Much of the Orchard House was built by General William Jackson Palmer and has been restored. General Palmer was the founder of Colorado Springs. Glen Eyrie is a 67 room English Tudor-style castle built by General Palmer. The house is hidden in the foothills north of the Garden of the Gods City Park. The estate is on 800 acres of land. In 1881 the house was remodeled to include a tower and additional rooms. It resembles a stone castle native to England. The Flying W Ranch is a working mountain cattle ranch. The Ranch has authentic western food and entertainment. It is also the site of weddings and many private events. |
