The City of Colorado Springs has 7 regional parks, 8 community parks, 5 sports complexes, 136 neighborhood parks, and 47 open spaces. The City has 105 miles of urban trails and 160 miles of park trails, and two public golf courses. Many Olympic athletes and Olympic hopefuls train at the Olympic Training Center located in the central Colorado Springs real estate area because of the great Colorado weather and altitude, also making it a great destination for your Colorado Springs military relocation. Colorado Springs offers many outdoor recreational activities. Centrally located, Memorial Park has a skate and BMX park for inline skaters, skateboarders, and BMX bikers. Gossage Skate Park is a 12,800 sq. ft. bowl/street combination and the John L. Stone Skate Park is a 7300 square foot street course. Gossage State Park and John L. The largest park in the Colorado Springs real estate area is Cheyenne Mountain State Park. The Park is located in the foothills of Cheyenne Mountain in the western real estate area of Colorado Springs. Plenty of hiking and biking take place in the Park year around. The City of Colorado Springs Parks and Recreation has many proposed trails it is working on completing. The above-referenced trail surfaces vary from concrete to natural, and gravel surfaces. The Santa Fe Trail is a long, wide trail that runs through the northwest part of Colorado Springs. The trail is used for numerous types of activities in the summer and winter months.

There is plenty of fishing and camping surrounding the City of Colorado Springs. Fishing hot spots include: Lake Pueblo State Park, Blue Mesa Reservoir, Cheeseman Reservoir, Elevenn Mile, Manitou Lake, Monument Lake, Palmer Lake, Pikes Peak North Slope, Poudre River, Prospect Lake, Deckers, Spinney Reservoir, Tarryall Reservoir, Twin Lakes, Quail Lake, Rainbow Falls Park, and Rampart Reservoir.
