The Air Force Academy is well known as a training ground for tomorrow’s officer corps. Briargate is the most popular choice for USAFA real estate. Located right off the South Gate entrance, this community offers a quick commute and a wide range of housing. It’s also home to the renowned District-20 School System. Briargate covers a large section of north Colorado Springs and has many newer homes available. The trek from Briargate to the Air Force Academy takes 5-20 minutes.

Gleneagle is located directly across I-25 from the Air Force Academy. It offers larger lot and house sizes, yet can still be affordable for field grade officers and senior NCOs. Gleneagle is also part of the D-20 system and is another good choice for USAFA real estate. Driving to the Academy from this community is a 5-20 minute commute.

The Monument area is northeast of the Air Force Academy. The locale features spacious homes in wooded alcoves. It has a more secluded feel than most areas of Colorado Springs. Also, it’s closer to Denver and is a perfect choice for families that work in both cities. Commute times to the Academy range from 10-25 minutes.

Northwest Colorado Springs is another option for Air Force Academy real estate. These communities feature life in the same foothills that dot the USAFA landscape. Central Colorado Springs is another option for Schriever AFB real estate. This area has beautiful, tree-lined streets and mature landscaping adding to its appeal. The commute from here to Schriever Air Force Base takes 20-35 minutes.

The Powers Corridor is a bit farther away from the Academy, yet is still a popular area for USAFA relocations. The homes in this community are comfortably priced for both officers and NCOs alike. Powers also has the largest concentration of retail shopping, restaurants and entertainment in Colorado Springs. It’s proximity to Peterson and Schriever make it a perfect choice for families that work in both locations or plan to stay in Colorado Springs for a second assignment. Commute times from the Powers Corridor are approximately 15-30 minutes.
